Takes about 3 minutes · Works with keyboard or touch
Tune the response window to your device. A 10-second test that adjusts the focus check + reaction test to your actual tap speed.
Pace
Response window per digit
Only Standard is directly comparable to published SART norms. Relaxed and Strict still track your own trend over time.
Press SPACE (or tap the screen) the moment a digit appears.
Hold back. The 3 is the only digit you skip.
Between digits a + appears in the middle of the screen. That's a rest mark — don't tap it. It also tells you the response window is still open: you have ~1 second to tap after each digit appears, even after the digit itself disappears.
Each digit only flashes for 250 ms — that's the published SART protocol (Robertson 1997). On a phone or laptop, taps land ~50–100 ms slower than the keyboard presses used in lab studies, which is why we offer a Relaxed pace above. Missed taps count silently — just keep a steady rhythm.
How steady and grounded your attention is — your "rhythm of focus."
How well you catch yourself before reacting on autopilot.
How often your mind quietly wanders off-task.
